What Not To Do When You Arrive on Your Flights to Paris

Have you booked flights to Paris for your next holiday? Don’t make these common tourist mistakes! Here are some things NOT to do when you arrive on your flights to Paris:

· Don’t try to see all of the artworks in the Louvre in two hours. This museum is more incredibly enormous that you could imagine and if you try to rush through it you will not really appreciate anything. If you are interested in art, consider spending an entire day or more to really enjoy the exhibits.

· Don’t try to get around with absolutely no knowledge of French. Parisians are much more helpful if you show that you are at least trying to speak their language, so memorize a few important phrases and vocabulary words.

· Don’t eat at a fancy restaurant for your every meal, unless you have a huge travel budget. Perhaps one of the once-in-a-lifetime experiences you would like to have in Paris is dining at a famous Michelin starred restaurant, and that’s ok if you are a millionaire and can afford it. However, if you don’t want to have a meal that costs as much as your flights to Paris, there are many other options. Check out a more humble bistro favoured by the locals, or pick up some olives, cheese, bread and other treats for an al fresco picnic.

· Don’t miss some of the smaller museums of Paris, such as the Musee Rodin which has beautiful gardens or the Musee de l’Orangerie which is home to Monet’s famous water lily murals.

· Don’t dress yourself like a slob. Although you want to be comfortable when exploring the city, wearing a pair of white trainers and khaki shorts with a t-shirt will automatically brand you as a tourist. Parisians have mastered the art of effortless chic, so go for a casual and yet sophisticated look, such as a simple skirt, blouse and scarf and dress shoes and a fitted jacket for men, and you will fit in just fine.

· Don’t rent a car. Paris is painful to drive in, with narrow one-way streets, congested traffic, and almost no available parking. Instead, walk through the city to experience its many sights and sounds, take the cheap and convenient Metro, or rent a bicycle.

Remember these tips when you arrive on your flights to Paris, and have a great holiday!
