The Isle of Man TT is the single most exciting motorcycle event in the racing calendar. Taking place on 37 miles of public roads around the island that are closed off specially for the event, this race boasts a particularly challenging course with plenty of hills, dips, jumps and bends. You can be standing in a pub beer garden, enjoying a cold drink and basking in the sunshine, while all around you motorbikes are screeching past at speeds approaching 200mph! If you’d prefer to spectate from further away but still have a lot of fun, then place some bets and get great odds at Bet Victor.
A Century of Thrills
The very first race was hosted on the Isle of Man in the year 1907, and was actually called the very proper sounding International Auto-Cycle Tourist Trophy. The race continued to grow and by the 1930s was the premier event of the racing year. This decade was seen as the golden age of the event, even with a break for both World Wars, the race has never dipped in popularity and is still going strong over a century later.
Modern Day
With the production of the documentary TT 3D: Closer to the Edge in 2011, this year saw a huge surge of attention in the race; compelling footage of adrenalin fuelled races populated with death defying stunts against the charming backdrop of the majestic scenery of the Isle of Man has proved to be a winning combination! The heightened popularity means people have flocked to get great odds at Bet Victor and place their bets on the race.
It’s a good idea to book your place early as it seems that every spare hotel room or patch of ground on the island gets snapped up months in advance. Whether you want to stay in a luxury hotel in the island capital of Douglas or rough it in the natural beauty of the Isle of Man by camping, you’ll find you have plenty of other people to keep you company.
And of course with so many races taking place across the two week period, you can always get great odds at Bet Victor and find yourself right on the money.
