Modern wedding invitations for a modern and contemporary wedding may come as a step too far for some brides. Some may look at ways of bringing their wedding day right into the 21st century, but one of the easiest ways of having a modern wedding and simple feel is to send out electronic wedding invites. Paper wedding invitations are so 2010 don’t you know?!
Although a wedding is often seen as an extravagant and very special day, that does not mean you should indulge in unnecessary wastage or expense just for the sake of it. Indeed sending electronic wedding invites is a simple, yet effective way of inviting your guests to your wedding. Of course, having wedding invitations designed electronically may be cheaper for you but this will not come across to your guests. They will still see the thought and energy you put into designing the cards and will recognise you are being environmentally friendly and responsible.
No matter how hard you try to reduce the waste and plan out your wedding day, it is still likely to end up with food left over and other waste. Rather than letting these things be thrown out, think about how you could save them and in the process make your day more environmentally friendly.
Rather than having fresh flowers, you could have silk flowers that guests can then take home as a special souvenir of the day. On the other hand, if you really cannot do without fresh flowers, why not have them made into pot pourri or donate them to a local nursing home where the residents will surely appreciate them.
Any left-over food could be given to a local homeless shelter and any alcohol left over could be given to guests as thank you gifts. Decorations could be kept for any birthday parties or future celebrations coming up too.
